Hot on the trail of the American Nationals, comes the British National Championships.

With barely time to catch your breath, the dancing world heads to Blackpool, this year, to the Norbreck Castle Hotel. This new venue is the largest conference centre in Blackpool and with its large indoor swimming pool and splash pool for the little ones, it offers plenty to do when you need a well deserved break from the competition floor.

Blackpool itself offers a wide variety of family fun. When your competition days are over, the costume neatly stowed away and the make up “scrubbed” off, be sure to check out some of the exciting things to do.

Visit the Sea life centre at the heart of Blackpool’s Golden Mile. Home to more than 40 fascinating displays, it allows encounters with marvels of Marine Life and 2005 sees some deadly additions to this display with the UK collection of poisonous Sea Snakes. Won’t the kids just love it!!

Meet all your stars at one of Blackpool’s oldest attractions Madam Tussaud’s Waxworks and have your photo taken with the famous and the infamous. If you’ve still got the energy after all that dancing why not head down to the Sandcastle. White knuckle water chutes, swirling rapids and the giant typhoon lagoon wave pool guarantees a full day of family fun. Make sure you visit the North Pier with its old Victorian charm and head to Pleasure Beach where there are over 145 rides and attractions and don’t forget Central Pier which offers a traditional seaside experience for the entire family to enjoy.

For the more adventurous among you, the Adrenaline Zone is a must. Bungee type rides, including the Skycoaster and the Skyscreamer will offer you thrills you’ve only ever imagined. Make the British National Irish Dance Championships a fun holiday break for all the family.
